About Meg

While I was born in Washington, DC, I grew up mostly in the south Texas, Hill Country area.

With a love for the outdoors and for science, I attended Stephen F Austin State University in the Piney Woods of East Texas where I graduated with a Nursing degree.

During that time I met and married my husband.  We then moved to Dallas where we welcomed our four children into our family.

After raising our children, I pursued and obtained a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amberton University and a Chemical Dependency Counselor License.

My desire in using my degree and life experience is to bring healing from emotional wounds, helping others relate in healthier ways and facilitate changes when stuck.

My counseling practice is in Highland Village, Tx., thirty minutes north of Dallas.

What is an LMFT Associate?

An LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In my case I am an associate which means that I am under supervision by an LMFT supervisor (Dana Lewin LMFT-S) while I finish my hours to obtain full licensure.

An LMFT sees the client(s) as part of a system wherein each person affects the other people in the system. A family's pattern of behavior influences the individual and the individual influences the family. In marriage and family therapy, even if only a single person is interviewed the therapist will look at the relationships in which the person is embedded as well.
